In the morning of June 19, 1813, during the War of 1812, the British attacked Sodus Point. Our town has two villages, The Village of Sodus and Village of Sodus Point. Sodus Point was settled around 1794 because of a road constructed from Palmyra, but the first settlers did not arrive at the Village of Sodus until about 1809.
